About the Wholistic Charity

Wholistic Banner

"Assisting people in Kenya to become socially, physically, emotionally and spiritually whole"

Wholistic is a charity in Kenya, founded in 1994, providing a safe place for women in crisis to find shelter, food and loving support.

Women come to Wholistic facing a variety of issues, such as unplanned pregnancy, rape, abuse, prostitution and drug abuse. All in need are welcomed. As well as housing women, Wholistic provides maternity and health services to clients and the local community, basic craft training and has helped set up and supports several community self help groups.

Recently, Wholistic has become involved in sponsoring primary school fees for needy children in the local community as well as helping young adults with fees for further education. There is no state funded education in Kenya and many children drop out of school as their parents are unable to pay the school fees. Sponsoring children and young people is of long term advantage to the local community and transforms the lives and prospects of particular individuals.

Susanna LaughtonSusanna Laughton, from Chiddingfold, Surrey, has recently returned from living and working at Wholistic for over a year and is able to testify first hand to the vital need for the work of Wholistic in helping transform people's lives.

All support is welcomed and will be put to good use in covering day to day costs such as food, salaries and water, or helping towards the costs of education. Thank you.
