AssistantsRecording EngineerRichard Sutcliffe is on the famous Tonmeister course at Surrey University. Richard recorded our Golden Jubilee Fanfare Concert. Our first CD "Golden Jubilee Fanfares" was made and was given airplay on BBC Southern Counties Radio over the Jubilee period. Richard also produced our second album, "From Russia with Love". He recorded "East Meets West", "Movie Music" and also our Christmas Album. He is now a professional engineer with a growing business. Alex van Ingen, also a Tonmeister and percussionist, recorded our second live album, "From Russia with Love". He is currently working for a company in the North of England who specialise in recording brass - and we can't wait to have him back soon - but he's so busy these days we'll have to work very hard to get him. James Dandridge is also a Tonmeister student at Surrey University and has recorded our "Fanfare for St George" concert, and also a Film Music concert too! We look forward to making an album with him. Concert StewardSince Surrey Brass will be busy playing on stage, we really need several people to help us with our massive audiences, ensuring that they pay for tickets, programmes, drinks, tips.... Seriously this is a vital job, we like to treat our supporters with care and courtesy, and this needs people who are willing to set aside a couple of hours on concert day to set up the venue, sell tickets, sort out the bar, help our audiences find their way around, and so on. Oh yes, and if you have some time the week before it helps to have lots of spare drawing pins to put those posters up in the area. No particular skills are needed, just enthusiasm! You will get the satisfaction and fun of working in a small team. Surrey Brass is especially keen to encourage young people in whatever way we can. You will be able to mention something good about your people skills to put on your cv. These skills are valued by many employers and might just help you along with your future career. If you think you could do this job, or know anyone suitable please contact us. You do not need to be experienced, just be keen, a few spare hours, and some initiative. Our Vice President is also Front Of House Manager, and will tell you everything you need to know. |
