Carols by Candle Light  features your favourite Christmas Music plus some pleasant new surprises.

Mark the Christmas Season in the Gothic Cathedral splendour of the Landmark Arts Centre in a family celebration programme of innovative and traditional music. Surrey Brass, Concordia, St. Anne's School Choir join together once again for our traditional festive event that everyone will enjoy.

This concert has become an annual fixture for Surrey Brass, who partner with other performing organisations regularly to put on innovative and entertaining concerts with music ranging from Bach via a Mexican cantina to Star Wars. The brass ensemble, formed in 2001, has gained a reputation for creativity, commissioning music to accompany silent films, and in 2007, a piece to commemorate Concorde, which they recorded during the summer. They are based at Reeds School, Cobham and in 2008 would like to to work more with charities and young people.

Surrey Brass is delighted to welcome local resident Mark Curry to present Carols by Candle Light.
Mark is a versatile, popular presenter and actor who has been in showbusiness since the age of seven. His current television work includes the garden makeover series “Gardening Angels” for UK Style, playing the role of Kevin in the new series of “Last of the Summer Wine” and presenting on “Thomas Cook TV” as well as contributing to BBC Breakfast.

Concordia Voices Concordia Voices is a professionally directed, amateur chamber choir of approximately forty voices. Their repertoire spans over four centuries, from the Renaissance to the present day, and includes a wide range of sacred and secular music. The choir is based in Hampton Hill, Middlesex, on the outskirts of London, and rehearses in St. James's Parish Church, an elegant Victorian church with a fine acoustic.

St. Anne's School Choir is based at St Anne's School Chertsey and is run by Carolyn Spencer, the music coordinator at the school. The school boasts three choirs: the main junior choir which consists of around thirty 7-11 year olds, an infant choir for the 4-7 year olds and a special boys’ choir which tries to encourage a special interest from boys. We perform in several concerts and competitions throughout the year. This is our sixth year of coming to the Landmark and the event is always a highlight in our year; we hope that you find it as magical and enjoyable as we do!

Everyone is encouraged to join in the singing of Carols.

To complete the seasonal celebration, mulled wine and mince pies will be on sale at the interval!
