Christmas
Celebration
Presented by Mike
Burnside
7.30
pm Friday
19th December 2003. Holy
Trinity Church,
Church Road,
Claygate,
Surrey KT10 0JP
Following last
year's sell out concert, this is your chance to mark the Christmas Season with a
family celebration programme of traditional music. Surrey Brass and the
Chapel Choir from the local Reeds School, Cobham join together for a special festive event
that everyone can join in. The concert will feature seasonal readings by Mike
Burnside. Surrey Brass will be directed by Robin Smith.
Mike Burnside is an actor and director most well known for his 10 years
in 'The Bill' as Assistant Commissioner Hicks. His theatre work includes seasons
at the RSC and the National (including "Madness of King George III") and he was
the first Artistic Director of the Brockley Jack Theatre. He recently completed
touring "Mrs.
Warren's Profession".
Reed's Chapel Choir consists of up to 30 voices of all
ages, and it sings regularly in the School chapel, as well as giving many
concerts locally and in such venues as Guildford, Southwark and Arundel
Cathedrals, and Hampton Court Palace. Each year it joins forces with the
Reed's Choral Society, which includes parents, friends and staff, to perform a
major choral work. These have included Vivaldi's Gloria, Purcell's Te Deum and
Jubilate, Haydn's Requiem, and Carmina Burana at the Fairfield Hall Croydon with
the Young Musicians' Symphony Orchestra.
Reeds School Choir will be directed by Iain Carmichael.
This family event is a wonderful way to begin Christmas celebrations for 2003.
Don't miss it!
In this family programme, everyone is encouraged to join in the singing
