BANZAI!

On 28th May 2003 Media Nations, a Japanese TV production company recorded Surrey Brass for the popular Nationwide Japanese weekly TV programme "Sound Mark" on TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System).  There is a great deal of interest in the music by The Beatles in Japan.

For this programme, Surrey Brass introduced the unique instrument which the Beatles featured in the song "Penny Lane"- the "Piccolo Trumpet", played by Will Spencer. The programme also featured Will hard at work in his workshop, repairing brass instruments.

We hope to bring you a video clip of this programme in due course....

Surrey Brass is proud to be doing their best to support our county cultural strategy...

more to life
a cultural strategy for surrey
2002 - 2007

' To make Surrey a place where culture is central to people's lives and where opportunities for participation embrace our heritage, celebrate local traditions and encourage a healthy life style.'

This cultural strategy was developed in consultation with the people of Surrey and many agencies and organisations particularly those involved in delivering cultural services and those which benefit from the services. It underlines the wide range of cultural identities and the needs of communities within Surrey.
