One of the main features of the Music School at Reeds School is the provision of high quality facilities for Music Technology and Recording.

Along with more traditional instruments and aural training, technology plays an increasing part in the industry we are equipping our students for, and we are lucky enough to boast cutting edge technology as used by the professionals. The totality of facilities includes:

Recording Studio as a mastering studio with a recording technician if required
Recording Studio and Ensemble Room for live recording
Ensemble Room for performance or rehearsal
Song Room for rehearsal
Teaching Rooms suitable for conferences
A School Chapel with modern mechanical action Walker organ
A flat stage Theatre
Residential and catering facilities
Sporting facilities

These facilities are available for hire.

Music Technology Studio

The Music Technology Studio is primarily a composition studio with sequencing and notation software. Equipment includes:

MOTU Digital Performer Sequencer
Korg X5D
Roland JC-1010 with orchestral expansion baords
To work stations
Mac G3 with CD and DVD RAM drives.
Sibelius notation software.
Pro-Tools LE, a simplified version of the main Recording Studio software, provides a secondary mixdown facility.

Recording Studio

The recording studio is a state of the art industry standard facility. Equipment includes:

Adjustable acoustic studio room, can accommodate up to 15 musicians
12 mic sends and 4 headphone returns to main live room
Pro-Tools Mix 24 on Apple Mac G4
Dual 21" monitors
Glyph hard drives
64 audio Channels

30GB Hard drive

How to Hire the Reeds Studios

During Term Time facilities are available as follows:

Weekdays between 6:00pm and 10:00 pm.
Saturdays between 1.00 pm and 10.00 pm.
Sundays between 10.00 am and 10.00 pm.

During school holidays the facilities are available for short or long terms, residential or non residential hire.
