To
all concerned with the evening.
I came to the 'Carols By Candlelight' concert on the 21st December 2002 with my
wife and two friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We came primarily to see
our daughters sing in the St Anne's school choir and had a
very pleasant surprise with the sheer professionalism of the whole event. My
father is a professional trombone player and as a child I played the trumpet so
I have grown up listening to and indeed love the sound of brass and I profess to
know a bum note when I hear one! I can tell you that I was very impressed at the
extremely high standard of playing by all those in the band. The splendour of
the band was however overshadowed momentarily as all our hearts melted as little
Grace's voice wavered as she sang Silent Night. My thanks also to Caroline John
for her excellent and varied choice of readings. I would like to take this
opportunity on behalf of the children, parents and indeed St Anne's school to
thank Surrey Brass for inviting the children to take part.
A truly wonderful experience for all concerned.
We look forward to seeing and hearing you play again.
With thanks
Quentin Hardie

"Making Music" commended the Surrey Brass website to delegates at a
seminar during 2002 on "Audience Development and Marketing". Surrey Brass were especially
invited to demonstrate the website to delegates, gaining much positive comment.
The seminar coordinator said the site was "highly creative, interesting and
comprehensive".
