Q: How and when will I receive my music?
A: Within a seconds of your payment, you will receive an email from Surrey
Brass. This email will contain either an attachment containing the music, or a
link, through which you can download your music.
Q: How do I view and print my music?
A: To speed up download, all files are in one compressed ZIP archive. A Zip
utility will be needed to expand and extract from the compressed archive. Many
free zip utilities are available for download.
Once extracted from the ZIP archive, music
files are in PDF format, and can be viewed in a PDF viewer such as the free Adobe Reader.

Q. Are there any restrictions?
A. Once you have downloaded
the music file, you'll be able to open it at any time, and print (without
restriction) as you would any normal document. You can print as many copies as
you need for your own use. However you must respect copyright, in particular
because you have bought this arrangement for your own use, you are not permitted
to sell or otherwise send copies of this music for other people's use. Please
see our Copyright statement.
Q: What are the requirements for my computer?
A: You won't need a mega-powerful machine, almost any computer made in the last
five years will be more than adequate. The only software requirements are for a a ZIP archive reader and a PDF viewer (see
above question). The file will open on both Mac and Windows machines. We
haven't tried it on Linux or other machines, but don't expect any problems.
Q: What about the printer?
A: We recommend you use an A4 monochrome Laser printer because the print is more
resilient and longer lasting than inkjet. If the printer is capable of it, you
may be able to set it to print out double sided. If you have access to an A3
printer you may prefer to use this for scores. You may also wish to bind the
score and there are many ways to do this. Although we have not tried this vendor
and cannot recommend them, you might like to look at
http://www.vivid-online.com/products/range/3 and similar products.
Q: Are these just the full scores, or are there individual parts for each
instrument included as well?
A: A complete set of instrumental parts is provided, in addition to the full
score. In addition we frequently include alternative parts (for example horn
parts in both F and Eb, to permit both orchestral and brass band instrumentation).
Q: Can I transpose the instrumental parts?
A: You should not need to because we often supply the standard
instrumentation together with alternative transposed parts for Brass Band - for
no extra charge. Additional transpositions can be provided at no extra cost -
just ask us for what you want and we'll do our best to supply it (although we
cannot promise everything!).
Q: If I lose the file later will you supply a replacement?
A: Although we always try to be as helpful as we can, Surrey Brass regrets
that in most cases that this will not be possible. Just as with physical goods,
if you lose it, you will need to buy a replacement.
