Description:

From Alpert's early album, "Whipped Cream and other Delights". With the Tijuana Brass, Alpert won six Grammy awards, and of their albums fifteen have gone gold and fourteen platinum. At one point his music outsold that of The Beatles by two to one. In 1966, he was recognized (with the Brass) in the Guinness Book of World Records for having five albums in the Top 20 of the Billboard album charts simultaneously, an unprecedented feat. In April of that year, four of those albums were in the Top 10 simultaneously. "Taste of Honey" was No. 7 for 16 weeks in the 1965 Billboard Top 100.

This arrangement is easy to play, but requires a bit of care if the group truly emulates the "Tijuana Brass sound" in style and rhythmic drive.

You can still buy the original album to hear what all the fuss was about, but on CD not the original crackly vinyl (shame the cover art and sleeve notes are smaller though!)

And, in tribute, the album has recently been re-mixed and re-released. See which one you prefer!
