A Musical Menagerie

This unique family-friendly concert featuring music about the animal kingdom includes a range of innovative and entertaining music from Surrey Brass.  As well as real animals, the programme also includes music about mythical and fantastic beasts, those imaginary animals that excite us all so much. Some music will be very familiar, whilst other pieces will be completely new to you. The concert is specially scheduled at a convenient time for families and young children. Why not give your children a live music experience? With music ranging from dinosaurs to dragons, there will be music with bite that is sure to appeal to everyone.

As a special bonus, all concert goers have the opportunity to visit the magnificent "Gaia" exhibition before, during or after the concert at no extra cost. Created by artist Luke Jerram and featuring surround sound composition by BAFTA award-winning composer, Dan Jones, Gaia is awe-inspiring. Measuring seven metres in diameter and suspended inside the Landmark Arts Centre, Gaia makes use of high-resolution NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface.

Whether real or imaginary animals, there is great music written about both and we are busy selecting the very best family-friendly favourites to play for you. Surrey Brass mixes up music from familiar movies together with favourite and familiar music from the classical repertoire, sprinkling in new and inspiring music you may not have heard before.
