About the Concert
Surrey Brass is delighted to announce this concert, part of Claygate Arts Festival 2020.
We are sure that our customary mix of classics, jazz, film music, and solo features drawn from many styles, places, and times will provide a highly varied and enjoyable programme, which is carefully chosen to include something to please everyone.
Tonight's concert will be conducted by Robin Smith, who also conducted the Surrey Brass inaugural concert at Holy Trinity nearly 20 years ago as well as many others in the intervening period.

About the Claygate Arts Festival

The Claygate Village Association has held successful biennial Music Festivals since 2006 and now widens the scope to include all the arts, with a focus on home-grown talent. The new Claygate Arts Festival will be for and by local people, drawing on the wealth of existing arts activities and groups in Claygate, as well as creating new ones. There will be exhibitions, performances, workshops, talks, walks, concerts, readings and more.
The Claygate Village Arts Festival is inclusive, affordable and enjoyable for the whole community.

About Surrey Brass
Surrey Brass, the innovative and entertaining brass ensemble aims to develop the fine tradition of ensemble brass performance originated by the internationally famous Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, by widening the audience for brass ensemble music, enlarging the repertoire, and providing enjoyment for everyone. Our talented musicians include the best semi-professional players in Surrey, UK.
We are particularly keen on encouraging young brass players and every year perform at least one concert involving them - hopefully some will join us in future.

Surrey Brass has been affiliated to Making Music for many years. Making Music is the UK’s number one organisation for leisure-time music, with a membership of over 3,700 groups representing around 200,000 music makers across the UK.
Making Music is a membership organisation that offers a comprehensive range of financial, artistic and administrative services as well as development and training opportunities to voluntary music groups. It also campaigns on behalf of the voluntary music sector and its members at a national and local level.

About the Concert Venue
Holy Trinity Church is particularly important to Surrey Brass since it was the venue for our very first concert in 2002, when we performed all the entries from our Golden Jubilee Fanfare composing contest, held in commemoration of the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen.

At the church is space for 20 cars plus 3 disabled bays. And additional space on roads close by. There are 43 Free Parking Spaces here, just round the corner.
